I'm not sure that's going to be the right answer actually... It might have the highest PITCH in England, but the highest ground? Wouldn't that include the top of the stadium, therefore the very big stadia would actually be higher than the top of the Hawthorns...

Mr Filth, by definition, ground is terra ferma, ie: earth. Last time i looked there is not too much earth or soil on top of a high stadium, the new Wembeleys Arch perhaps, ergo i conclude that Dave meant highest pitch as that is ground.
